ROAR Success Criteria: High expectations are a constant in my classroom. Biography: I grew up just an hour outside of Chicago, Illinois and attended Northern Illinois University to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. I’ve dreamt about being a teacher since I was in the first grade and close to the end of my college career, that dream evolved into wanting to teach first grade in Texas. Shortly after graduation, I was considered by the administration at Natha Howell for my dream position, so I accepted and moved 1000 miles away from home and I haven’t looked back since! My favorite thing to teach is literacy and I love leading students to build strong foundational skills to become powerful readers. I love seeing how much students grow in first grade! I put everything I have into helping my students grow and teaching has truly changed my life. When I’m not at school, some of my favorite things to do include reading, working out, spending time with friends, talking on the phone with my mom, and lounging on the couch with my dog, Stella.
